It Comes In Waves
A month ago I was on the phone with my daughter, listening to a story of anxiety that felt really familiar to me. She was in a rut and was having a hard time seeing that the future will be better. Sound familiar?
I told her the phrase that I tell myself often, “It comes in waves”. As one wave comes in, it can be hard to see that there will be relief between the next. Knowing that after the metaphorical crash comes down there will be a gentle swell next, keeps me pushing through.
I’ve long been considering getting a tattoo of this saying, which has brought me hope within my own creativity. In the meantime I’ve drawn up this print, as a reminder that the struggles of being human will come and go like the tide.
“It Comes In Waves”, 11x14 inches, linoleum limited edition print. Now available!
