It’s summer, which means time for the Seattle Art Fair! I’ll be showing two paintings with the wonderful ladies at Spectrum Fine Art again this year.

“Tea Party”

I love collecting highly decorative, vintage teaware and using it to gather my friends for tea parties. Tea time feels both sophisticated and delightfully childlike, where everything is a little whimsical and wonderfully maximalist. To me, food and drink are expressions of love, and nothing brings me more joy than serving fresh scones and tea to people I care about. I hope you feel the joy of gathering when looking at this painting!

“Raspberry Hand” 24×24 inches, oil on canvas

Why don’t we play more as adults? When I was little and when my kids were small, raspberries and olives were the best foods for play. We stuck them on our fingers and had puppet shows. Seeing the movie Amelie really brought me back to my childhood and the fond memories of playing with my food sparked a joy for this oil painting.
